Is it worth the time to set up a Friendster account, or is it really just a big time sink?
(Not like LJ. Oh, no. Not at all.)

I give JB exactly an hour

before he recommends you sign you with tribe instead.

(me, I say, go for both, although I wonder about the argument against being too well-connected to all your subversive friends as our government grows more paranoid.)

I haven't even heard of tribe.

Friendster came up again because a cousin asked if I were on it, and sent an invite, so now I'm wondering how I'd use it if I signed up, other than spending the time to list a lot of people.

it's a time sink the first couple of weeks, when you obsessively check to see if you know anyone. after that, you don't touch it for months at a time until someone mentions it in their LJ ;)

Doesn't everyone think about how the Babylonians, with their base 60 system and fascination with all things 60, set us up with 360 degrees in a circle? [innocent look]

Friendster: time sink?

It's much as bitty says: You keep checking to see how your network is shaping up, but it's not really a time sink unless you fall into it. So far, I haven't. The last thing I want is some other site that I need to check every day.

Obviously, you have less of an addictive nature than I... ;-)

I'll probably cave, but not until I'm off work next week.
