Downs and ups
Nov. 9th, 2003 09:25 amDown: taking three times the time it should've to find the gym.
Up: for the weight machines that I remember what I used to lift, I was still about there, sometimes even more. (How can this be, when I've not been in a gym in almost a year, and it's been a couple of years since going regularly?)
Down: the rest of my building voting to get rid of the carpet in the front hallway in favor of getting it tiled.
Up: at least the stained carpet will go. But I still hate the idea of tile instead of wood.
Down: having eyelids swell to comic proportions.
Up: according to the nurse, it's an allergic reaction to something or other, not anything more serious. And all I had to get were over-the-counter drugs this time.
Down: missing the beginning of the moon entering shadow.
Up: seeing it go into totality and later reappear. My first lunar eclipse!
Down: not facing cooking Shabbat food.
Up: kosher Chinese take-out.
Added bonus: seeing some wonderfully whimsical menorahs.
Extra bonus: time during the week to talk with friends.
Recent menu:
Brown rice
Cranberries cooked in apple juice concentrate
Baked acorn squash
Boneless salmon steaks topped with Szechuan spicy sauce, scallions, mango slices, and thin shreds of onion
Grapes
