What would you do?
Apr. 15th, 2003 09:56 amIt looks like I'll be getting to keep the pictures of my brain (basically, big sheets of translucent black & white photos (on some sort of plastic)). Not sure what I want to do with them, other than perhaps scanning them.
Suggestions?

Date: 2003-04-15 07:17 am (UTC)Yeah, I thought of that, but that's one of over a hundred photos.
Plus I've not been sure that I want a user pic, actually. There are a lot of factors involved, none particularly rational.
If I'm going to use LJ for a long time, I don't know that there are any photos/images that I'd want for such a long time, and I wouldn't want to end up with a later substitution user pic with some entries, ones that wouldn't related.
I realized at some point that some people use images that I take one way, and they see another way; the image is open to interpretation. I'd rather have readers focus on my words at the time.
I don't necessarily want someone's first image association with me to be a user pic, no matter what it's of.
Written out here, it doesn't look like much, really. I don't know why I resist so much.
Still, it's more likely that I'd (ask Queue to help me) post a link to the scanned images than make a userpic. I think.
My other thought was after scanning figure out how to link the appropriate ones together, for a little film thing. (That could be a user pic too, I suppose, but animated ones tend to annoy me.)

Date: 2003-04-15 08:02 am (UTC)I suppose I could cut up the sheets, and figure out some way of stacking them with space in between (some clear glue and clear plastic rods or something?). Of course, there are a bunch of different kinds of shots, so I'd have to decide which was the "base" set, and have other series head out ( :-) from there, in the appropriate directions. Hrm. I'd have to put a light source with this, too...
(I wonder if this is beyond what I can do?)

Date: 2003-04-15 08:35 am (UTC)Do a brain themed party?
Make an odd plastic chandelier?
Chuck 'em in a file and keep 'em in a closet for 20 years?
Put some on the fridge?

Date: 2003-04-15 08:58 am (UTC)Ceilings are high enough for a chandelier of that size.
Too big for the fridge, with all the toys and other magnets on it already.
Too big for a file, too :-)

Date: 2003-04-15 09:17 am (UTC)Besides, then peole can bring games that have Brain in the name or on the box (Give Me The Brain comes to mind) and somebody could hook up a small TV and VCR for episodes of Pinky and the Brain.

Date: 2003-04-15 10:21 am (UTC)One extra-large, two extra-small. The smaller set comes from England, and actually features vegan jelly...Can't really call it gelatine, I guess. It's some concoction of agar-agar, sugar and natural strawberry flavour. I haven't made it up yet.
I set up the large one as a Halloween party centerpiece one year. Made in a milky green color, and with two lightsticks under it so it would glow. Every giant green brain should glow! But I couldn't get the aquarium pump working the right way to make it pulse, which would have taken it right over the edge... ;-)
