From the Tuesday papers
Apr. 8th, 2003 09:45 amOK, JB, here's the last installment: Gangster Teeth, part 6.
In the NYTimes this morning, I learned how to get massive quantities of salad greens ready for salad (from this article, but the site requires registration):
'After rinsing eight bags of arugula salad, he [Mr. Roberts] tied the leaves inside a pillowcase and turned on the spin cycle. "Don't put it in the dryer," he warned. "I did that one Christmas and my beautiful lettuces came out all wilted."'
In more a more serious vein (or artery?), according to one poll (numbers of people surveyed and exact wording of questions not given, so who knows how reliable it is), more than half of MA residents support gay marriage (Globe article here).

Date: 2003-04-08 07:09 am (UTC)How about you bring the washing machine salad and I do the dishwasher salmon? (since I have a dishwasher that's not been used for it's intended purpose since I moved in, except when I kashered it some years ago (the question of making it dairy or meat has stumped me, and in the meantime it makes a handy wine rack...)).
Er, at this point, this would be easier to schedule for after Passover...
on second thought
Date: 2003-04-08 07:12 am (UTC)(Technically, one can make kosher food in a non-kosher oven by keeping the food double-wrapped, and I don't see why this would be any different.)
Perhaps I'm the salad person after all...
Now, how many people are we having that I have to use the washing machine to dry all those greens? ;-)

Date: 2003-04-08 07:32 am (UTC)But, y'know, I'd actually be happy to co-host a dinner party at some point when your life calms down! Passover's over on the 24th, yes?
Inappropriate appliances
Date: 2003-04-08 07:37 am (UTC)Hm, a whole meal based on bizarre appliance use? I think that's totally possible, somehow. Heck, we've already got a main course and salad, so all we need is a starch, and a dessert, maybe a starter, and we're set! ;-)
Passover ends three Thursdays from now, whatever date that is. The 24th sounds about right.
