The Bobs

The Bobs sang at Somerville Theater Saturday night. I went with a mostly-LJ crew (*wave*), and of course ran into lots of other known faces, the most surprising of which was one I hadn't seen since college, now living in Brookline (!). I'm still kind of surprised I recognized him, actually. Just that afternoon having reread some old college journals he'd made an appearance in made it just that much more eerie.

I haven't been in the theater in a while. It needs work, but as a venue, it's pretty good; even from the balcony seats you can see the stage clearly.

The concert was a lot of fun, even if the sound was turned up too loud on the microphones. We heard a quartet of turtle songs, Fluffy's plan for world domination, some purple haze, and much else, along with lots of silly banter (fretless...). They are such impressive performers, doing things vocally I hadn't thought possible. On the down side, the second half of the show felt far too short :-(. Still, any Bobs is better than no Bobs at all :-).

And it also feels good to be doing stuff that doesn't involve the television. I've decided tv is mostly watching other people actually having a life. It's nice to feel like I don't have to watch it just to find out what that is like. *Grin*

:-)

Well, you know my feelings about TV by how much I do of that at home :-). Every so often I miss it, but that's usually either because I'm almost-sick and want the mindless distraction of it, or I find myself in too many conversations about TV shows.

But, yeah, I prefer doing stuff to watching the small screen. So, next weekend...?
