Lunch Fairy
Dec. 18th, 2002 08:20 amI've discovered my true calling: I am the Lunch Fairy.
Monday, I brought lunch to a friend downtown (flatbreads with meatballs in tomato-onion sauce, followed by ginger and chocolate).
Tuesday, I brought (most of) lunch to a friend in Providence (goat cheese and tomato sandwiches (flatbread again) with oregano and black pepper, followed by cranberry-rhubarb-ginger jam on... flatbread).
Today, I'm bringing lunch to a friend in Lowell (likely to be tuna or egg salad sandwiches on flatbreads...).
I've been in a mood to make flatbreads, which are quick to make and yummy. Also split well for (largeish) sandwiches, too. (I need to get more flour, though.)
The rest of the week does not have a fixed menu yet, but I do have plans for lunch with friends both days.
[I realize I did not mention that I am on vacation until the end of the year (use-it-or-lose-it vacation policy where I work). Thus the ability to become the Lunch Fairy this week (and possibly the week after, if there is demand for the Lunch Fairy's services).
I think other people manage not to cook every day they're on vacation. Sometime I should try that.]

Date: 2002-12-18 06:56 am (UTC)OTOH, I have been glad to have the chance to see people, spend time with them, and my bringing lunch means that no one else needs to deal with the vagaries of my eating disorder (as Cthulhia puts it :-). Plus, I enjoy making food for people I care about.
