Office cookery
Dec. 11th, 2002 12:27 pmToday there's Chinese food in celebration of some book benchmark. Yippee, the smell of Chinese food I don't eat. It smells particularly good because there wasn't much for me to grab for lunch this morning, in my rush to work. Certainly nothing as yummy-smelling as this. Feh. Been here almost a decade, and I can't count the pizza lunches, Chinese food lunches I've smiled through, gamely sipping my drink, making small talk. I've given up on that part now; I've gotten less able to do that, I guess. Or something.
Back to the office to reevaluate my options. Check the Bin of Foodstuffs. I realized that I still have a decent amount of couscous, which by itself is rather boring, but with something can be pretty good. And next to it is one of the Tasty Bites meals (Bengal Lentil). Hm.... Off to the hot water dispenser (At work I use the instant hot water, but not the microwave.), and now I'm brewing up a bowl of couscous with spicy Indian lentils. Not bad. Better than a bowl of Grape Nuts, anyway. I suppose I could've had some tuna, but cold food in a chilly office is not appealing. Still have the small box of potato-leek soup... must remember that.
