Veggie report (Week 17)
Oct. 1st, 2002 05:50 pmThis week's share includes:
3 eggplants (What to make and freeze with these? I still have 2 from last week...)
a big bunch of multi-colored Swiss chard
a head of green leaf lettuce
a head of red leaf lettuce
a big bunch of purple-stemmed curly kale (likely to be given to a friend)
a medium stalk of broccoli
6 peppers, some ripe, some not, some bell, some not
8 small-to-medium carrots
a medium purple kohlrabi
Bonus veggies this week: there was a basket of a variety of hot peppers, take as much as you want. There was also a bucket of basil, take as much as you want. Pesto ahead...
The share ends October 22. I'll miss all the veggies, though there will be some up side: it'll be lots easier to make it to the Diesel.
Porch update: the ginger is going nuts, with quite a few new stalks coming up. I really need to figure out how to use this. The transplanted rosemary (in my office) is starting to realize it has dirt, actual dirt, with nutrients and everything. I hope it continues to thrive
