After a fast day
Jul. 19th, 2002 11:07 amIt's amazing just how wonderful a tall glass of chilled filtered water can be at the end of a long hot fast day that even included an afternoon walk to the Square.
The food that followed wasn't half bad, either, but that first glass of water was spectacular.
It was hot enough in the apartment that sitting outside on the porch felt really nice, despite being cloudy. And then the clouds drifted a bit more, and slowly a thinner part of the cloud layer let the (bit more than half full) moon shine through, then slowly ebb away. That repeated, and it was fascinating to watch, something a bit like I think watching an eclipse would be.
And then overnight there was lots of lightning and thunder (the light and the noise making sure I woke up and closed the windows before the apartment got waterlogged), and now it's cooler, which is a Good Thing.
