The weather yesterday afternoon and evening was an interesting grab bag, starting off hot enough to make me sluggish and boring, then finally raining some, enough to make a rainbow :-), and continuing into thunder and lightning, particularly nice since it managed to be not only spectacular, but cool things off enormously.

Yesterday also included a stop at a dock in Waltham to dunk a pot, a couple of rounds of Citadels, and some yummy salmon, braised swiss chard (mmm), also a green salad.

I used to love Miss Marple, partly for all the English small village atmosphere (I never cared for "American" style mysteries the same way). Hercule Poirot was ok, but not as fun. Tommy and Tuppence were my favorites, though.
Now, they tend to seem a bit too formulaic, but still lovely pieces to read for atmosphere.

My mom loved the Sherlock Holmes stories, read them tons of times when younger. She impressed the hell out of me sometime in college (I think) when we were sitting down to watch a "Mystery" that was one of the Sherlock Holmes stories, but we'd missed the intro, and she ID'd the story within a minute or so... I read them all when I was in junior high, a couple of times, even, and never knew them quite that well...
Here's hoping the production is much better than this just-finished weird one.
