Somehow I'd always assumed I'd be done with zits before I got to the grey-hair-and-wrinkles stage. It's just not fair to have to deal with the worst cosmetic bits of being younger (theoretically) and older at the same time. Feh. o
Dermatologist. Retin-A or Differin. I am totally serious. It's not that expensive even out of pocket.
In fact, I even skipped the derm part and ordered it directly over the Internet. read the inserts very carefully. Haven't had a major infection in my face really since I started. Overall problems are less too.
There's real and good medication out there, even for mild cases.
I've tended to think of my level of them as below the medication threshhold, especially given my natural tendency to avoiding medication if possible. Also, it seems that this is my stress reaction, which is better than most take-out-stress-on-your-body things I can think of. I dunno if circumventing that would mean I'd come up with something else (sounds silly, I suppose).
In re: dermatologist, the last time I was referred to one, for something that was time sensitive, they couldn't get me an appointment with any dermatologists for a couple of *months*, which was far too late to help. Most unimpressive.
