Winter farm share, distribution 10 of 11
Mar. 15th, 2023 07:39 pmThis week it was a boxed share, so no swap box, alas for me. Weights are approximations/guesses.
The last two items are going to a friend of mine who doesn't care about kosher certification. I'll likely make some kind of carrot-daikon Asian-inspired slaw, and maybe ferment some of it (though it's close enough to Passover that something not needing refrigeration long-term would be better, so perhaps roasting will happen). Also some kind of cabbage-based slaw, perhaps with a lime dressing. Spinach will be sauted, though not sure with what else. And potatoes are far too easy for me to get through :-).
- three pounds of purple daikon
- three pounds of carrots
- three pounds of Yukon Gold potatoes
- a head of Savoy cabbage (oblong head, slightly ruffled leaf, otherwise similar to green cabbage)
- two bags of spinach
- a jar of giardiniera (19.6 oz, from Kitchen Garden in Sunderland)
- a jar of tomato puree from the farm (a quart, I think)
