This is the first week with my new farm share, from a farm called Crimson and Clover, which I pick up at Clover (Food Labs, Harvard Square location). It's a boxed share, but the box for the size I got is large, so luckily it's not a problem that I decanted the box into a variety of bags for carrying it home. This is the first time I've gotten a summer share on Thursdays (for the past decade plus, it's been Wednesdays, with various farms), so I hope I don't forget or lose track of days!
Of note: this share also includes fruit weekly, not as an add-on, which is exciting.

What came:
  • two bunches of hakurei turnips with greens
  • two bunches of rover red radishes with greens
  • a lot of nabechan (?) scallions (at least the equivalent of two to three bunches)
  • a bag full of lacinato kale
  • two HUGE heads of joi choi (which when I looked it up, seems to be a type of bok choi)
  • a giant kohlrabi with greens
  • a quart of strawberries (Warner Farm)

The email had mentioned romaine, but no kohlrabi, so that's a one for one swap. I'd been getting excited about salad, so I guess I'll have to find my salad greens elsewhere.

First thoughts: saute the radish, turnip, and kohlrabi greens with the scallions, some preserved lemon, and maybe tofu and/or walnuts (eat as is or bake with eggs). Massage the kale so it's ready for whatever. Fridge pickle the kale stems, radishes, and turnips. Some kind of mustardy slaw with kohlrabi (and possibly apples). Eat the strawberries. I'm not sure what to do with the bok choi; there is so much of it, and for some reason, I don't find it all that inspiring. I suppose I could stir fry it with things I'm more fond of (onions, mushrooms, maybe salmon or ground meat). Any other suggestions welcome.
