It's the last of the early Shabbatot, and it feels far too early to change the clocks. I know people are already appreciating the increased afternoon daylight, and morning light is important to me. Plus this year Pesach's about as early as it gets, and with the earlier clock shift, it's still not early enough for seders to be the hour earlier, which makes a difference, especially at any seder with kids. Casaubon's Book says it much more eloquently than I do. Realistically, few of us are farmers, so there's no real need for this any more, especially now that electricity is pretty reliably allowing anyone to time-shift to whenever they want.

I was again bemoaning the fact that all the winter farmer markets in Camberville are on Shabbat, when someone posted that there's a new market in Central Square on Wednesday afternoons (in the old Blockbuster space*, that's slated to become the new Manray later this year)! Huzzah!
* Does referring to a space by what used to be there make me an old-timer?

And of course to balance that, some sad news, with part of my childhood going away at the end of the year when the Higgins Armory closes. The collection will be going to the Worcester Art Museum, which is good, but the current building is one of a kind (and apparently a big part of the deficit problem with maintenance....).

I didn't know that the Longfellow Bridge is going to have major construction. [personal profile] ruthling posted a video of the proposed construction, including taking the pepperpots down temporarily. I found it fascinating, even on the computer that doesn't have sound enabled. Of course, the construction will run longer than planned (what doesn't?), but it looks like there could be the chance to see things I don't usually get to see, and maybe the chance to go into the pepperpots after. Plus fixing aging infrastructure is always a good thing.

An article mentioned in the comments on someone's locked post about how body fat acts as an organ, one antithetical to muscle. I hadn't thought of it as being quite that active; maybe I can turn that into motivation to move more.

Just cool: someone made a Hogwarts in LEGOs (hat tip to [personal profile] ceo).

And a silliness: Seuss Army knife!
