3Y, 3K: giving thanks

Three years and three thousand posts ago, I started on LJ, not sure how I would use it. I didn't envision it becoming my primary journal, mostly abandoning the paper one, nor did I have any idea how it would be a way of making new friendships, and deepening others.

So on this day of giving thanks (hodu, hodu, hodu), I thank you for sharing your lives with me, and for reading about mine (ok, and commenting :-).

I'm lucky to have not only wonderful friends, but a job I like, an apartment that feels like home, and (reasonably) good health (not necessarily in that order). For all these, I also give thanks.

Nuisances of the day

• right wrist hurting
  
• the icky residue left on my hands after peeling butternut squash, rather like that of fresh zucchini
  
• laundering the new autumnal tablecloth, and having it shrink a critical couple of inches
