When Powergen sets up an Italian subsidiary, of course the URL is going to be...
powergenitalia.com

Yup, that's really what they chose. Apparently there are at least one or two people's brain's available, since they're not using them.

My mom gave me a windbreaker-type jacket a couple of months ago, on the condition that I hang it up when not in use. Er, well... that did happen a couple of times... So when I wore it to their house Friday, I felt I had to agree when my mom wanted to hang it in the coat closet, rather than just leaving it by my bag in the room I was sleeping in. And of course, I forgot it when I left after Shabbat.

Mom emailed me the next day, asking about sending it to me, and whether she should send it to my home or work address (the latter is what I always use, since the postal people absolutely refuse to leave packages for me at my house). I thought about suggesting my brother just bring it back with him when he's out there next weekend, then realized I might need it before then, and it still leaves one of us with a drive to drop it off. I started thinking of stranger things, like getting Scholargipsy to pick it up from my parents (Yeah, they all live in the same municipality, but they've never met him.), since I'll likely see him at ArtBeat this weekend.

In the end, of course, we used yet another route: my mom's friend from shul was driving to Brookline to meet her sister for dinner (or was it lunch?). The sister lives in Cambridge, not far from me. Mom emailed me the sister's phone number. I called last night, and she suggested I pick it up from her at her workplace, which turns out to be a school not so far away. She gets in at 7, so it was easy enough for me to pick it up on my way to work this morning. Faster and cheaper than having it shipped, too.

[See the boring entry. See the boring entry run. Run, entry, run!]

Yet another full box, including
  • a bunch of cilantro (quickly given away)
  • 2 large heads (?) of celery, with leaves and all
  • 2 heads of green lettuce
  • a bunch of bright lights Swiss chard (some boxes had bunches of new beets instead...)
  • a big bunch of collards
  • a big bunch of dill
  • a big bunch of some Asian green (pac choi? tat soi?)
  • a small head of cauliflower
  • a medium cucumber
  • a zucchini
  • 3 little summer squashes
  • 2 little crookneck squashes

Whoever dropped off the boxes this week forgot to leave the newsletter :-(.
I would've liked to have gotten the beets, partly because I like beets, and partly because they're not leafy...
