The Ref

This was the perfect holiday movie, just as Cthulhia said: not sappy at all, some lovely biting lines ("Gag your grandma," comes to mind most quickly, but there are many others as well, about how the man with the gun is the only one allowed to yell, etc). I enjoyed it, unfortunately not able to resist salt and pepper chips as much as I should've. It was strange to see the movie bookended with the beginning and end of The Sound of Music, though. Haven't seen it in years, and the music is still right there. I kept thinking about how Julie Andrews' singing voice was ruined by surgery :-(.
