White day by the end, anyway

Really, it was rain when I left the house today. Sleet during the afternoon as the wind blew things every which way, then snow by evening, still blown by incredible winds. Later, thunder, which always sounds incongruous to me in this kind of storm. Everything is beautifully white, as seen under streetlights, but the roads are slow going (All the decorated houses look far more appropriate, though.). And there's my least favorite winter sound, the bass scraping of the snow plow on the street; something about it has the ability to wake me in the middle of the night.

A good day, with a correctly-colored lunch (salmon, broccoli, green salad), some games (I found an appropriate word in Boggle: rosary), gift exchange (some lovely and surprising things), and Brazil, which I'd not managed to see before. Disturbing, yes, but an enjoyable flick, and even themed for the day.
(I'd managed to start the holiday appropriately, with the traditional Chinese food that seems obligatory for Jews, though this was the first year I'd managed it, and did complete the tradition with a movie, though not at a theater. I wonder if it 'counts'?)

Later, got in some cloud-lounging and snake-draping (there's evidence of it, too).

Glad I got to see close friends today.
