Weird food-like product

Magic shell, that stuff that you put on ice cream and it makes a hard shell (which is already closer to food product than food), in cupcake flavor. Silly me, I thought cupcake was a shape/volume descriptor, rather than a taste one.

And how does "cupcake" differ from "cake batter," the Toscanini's ice cream flavor? (apart from being wildly inferior?)

It's kind of sad that if only either cake or ice cream could survive, that ice cream wins.

No clue how they might differ; I haven't had the Tosci's ice cream either.

And while ice cream is nice (and occasionally more compelling than just nice), I'm a rather improper Bostonian, for cake is always a good thing.

Every once in a while I consider starting a blog series entitled "foods chemists won't eat." Kind of a one-off on In the Pipeline's "Things I won't work with" series. Cupcake flavor or no, I won't eat Magic Shell, not no way not no how.
