Farm share, week 1
Jun. 21st, 2020 05:11 pmThis year, I ended up choosing a share from Stone Soup Farm, the Wednesday pickup changed from Clover to the Democracy Center in Cambridge, with a careful one-way route. It's a "boxed" share, but since the waxed boxes aren't reusable (state law) or recyclable, the farm chose to go for big plastic bags, which are easier for most people to schlep.
The first pickup was last Monday. I got a regular share, not a small one, which means I get two bags instead of one.
I've cooked/prepped all the leaves except the lettuce, which I've made a start on.

- two heads of lettuce (luckily, one was red leaf, one a flat green leaf)
- two bunches of curly green kale
- two bunches of Swiss chard
- two smallish bags of spinach
- five stalks of broccoli with lots of leaves
- some thin garlic scapes
I've cooked/prepped all the leaves except the lettuce, which I've made a start on.
