Wednesday night at Oberon was a one-night show based on a short story by Neil Gaiman, put on by Liars and Believers. It had the feel of a Cirque show, with loosely-related acts in a frame story, until I managed to read the source story after the show, which made it hang together much more coherently. There was a silks performer as the moon (who did nothing out of the ordinary; I think Kilingonlandlady, Frobzwiththingz, and other performers I know have spoiled me, in their amazing acts), as well as dialogues, a snippet of stand-up, shorter sub-stories of a king's feast and the challenge of a noble who ended up losing his tongue, fighting howling dogs, a variety of moon-touched people.

Following the current Oberon set-up, most people were in the standing area, which would have been fine were my knee not less than 100%, which meant people got to move around during the show. I found myself gravitating to the side area where ENSB usually sets up their merch table, a bit out of the way and a step or two up from the floor.

Oh, and I admit to a moment of celeb stalking, to get a photo of Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer at one of the tables.
