- Woke up early after going to bed late. Starting the day exhausted = bad.

+/- Photographed the hat I finished last night, with honeycomb, bees, and flowers on it. The LED part of the hat isn't working right, with only one or two lights. Not sure whether I have touching conductive threads, or LEDs not oriented properly, or something else entirely. I spent far too much of yesterday working on this, and I don't have the energy to figure out what the problem is before taking it to the playa. ::sigh::

- Hurricane Irene is coming... sometime near when I'm due to fly to Reno. The airline was allowing free changes, but since nothing left after Shabbat (I am kinda wishing I weren't Shabbat observant in the ways I am; other people rescheduled to Saturday day, and are just staying in a cheap Reno hotel for a night), this only got me earlier Sunday morning (6 A.M.). Since then, there's been a state of emergency declared to prep for the storm, and I still have no clue as to whether the flights Sunday will be canceled (for active weather or preemptively). My fellow traveler and I tossed around a bunch of ideas, including driving directly after Shabbat to $PlaceOutOfStorm and catching a flight from there, but it's really unclear where that would be, in any case. Driving the whole way there isn't feasible due to time constraints on the way back. So in the end, lots of mental energy expended on something I can't affect. The weather report for Monday is currently not-storm, so even if Sunday's flights are borked, I have some hope we'll be able to get out Monday. ::hopes::

+ Errands done: tea lights, pocket watch battery, postcard stamps, and assorted food items acquired.

+ Laundry started.

+ Half a bushel of tomatoes have mostly been processed, resulting in about a gallon of oven-dried tomatoes.

+/- Dropped the car off in Melrose to have work done on it. Walked from there to the end of the Orange Line, and from Sullivan Square home. It's hot out there, the sun oppressive, and I managed to get some blisters, too. ::sigh::

Still to do:
* cook for Shabbat (mostly vegan food; in particular, ratatouille and vegan sausage with cabbage)
* finish laundry
* straighten up the living room for $Houseguest
* line a garment with some fleece to become more usefully a coat

I'm tired, footsore, overwarm, and stressed. I hope things work out ok....

eta, 1640 The airline rebooked the flights, now leaving early Monday morning (though later than 6 :-), arriving in Reno midday (assuming everything works out, of course). This is very helpful; I'll still be getting there Monday, and I don't have to be on tenterhooks (until Sunday night?). I think I'll officially defer the sewing until Sunday (everything else will be done; packing the carry-on should be a breeze (not a gale :-).
