[local eating] Farm share, week 11
Aug. 17th, 2011 10:55 pm- three pounds of tomatoes (read: two large, one tiny; one of the large ones was almost 2 pounds by itself!)
- three pounds of mixed cucumbers and summer squashes (I chose mostly light and dark green squashes, zucchini and green pattypan and cousa; no cucumbers at all)
- a bunch of chard (I chose rainbow)
- two heads of lettuce (I chose red leaf, which was smaller, over some only-green varieties)
- three white onions
- a pound of green beans
- half a pound of okra
- a bunch of dill or cilantro (I chose the former)
- one medium globe eggplant or four small Asian eggplants (I chose the former)
- a bunch of edamame
- a bunch of red radishes with greens
Okra-lovers: help! Suggestions for how to use them?
So, much salad in my future, also pickled radishes. Not sure about anything else yet. I am contemplating getting a half bushel of paste tomatoes next week, too.
