Friday I saw a wild turkey jogging down Beacon St. in Brookline. I'm glad it veered off the road and onto the sidewalk before it got hit.
It's rainy and warm today. So strange to have spring weather in the middle of winter.
There was a potluck lunch at shul this week. I signed up to bring green salad, and brought all lettuce I had in the house (plus other stuff, of course). It all got et. It feels good to have a few days without the feeling I should be eating salad.
What do you call a rabbi only available in the evenings? Erev rav.*
A piece of information I wish would be useful to me: the maximum eligible pay from which one may make 401(k) contributions is $245,000 (in 2010, anyway; I assume it will adjust upward over time).
A motley collection of links:
an in-house composter, yurt living in AK, a bamboo bike,
a a map of stories set in and around Manchester England, some maps of Netflix queues with a particular focus on Twilight (in some major metropolitan areas around the U.S.),
all kinds of paper art, a skull stapler, some interesting crocheted crowns (I'm fascinated by the shapes),
showing models who look human, and 2009's most popular rock songs, mashed together (video).
* Bad pun from this week's Torah portion. Likely not worth explaining, given the level of pun...
