veggie enjoyment

tonight after a stop for groceries (thanks, queue!), i actually cooked veggies. like, from scratch and everything!
i roasted potatoes and carrots with rosemary, a bit of sea salt, and a touch of balsamic (far too much oil- it came out too fast). ... they're gone now, eaten while still hot.
and (inspired by the smell of the biriyani yesterday) i made up a curried cauliflower and potatoes and onions dish, with some crushed tomatoes, almonds, curry powder, ginger powder, white pepper, nutmeg. if i'd had raisins, they'd be in there too.
but the best part was feeling i could really cook something, even if it took longer, and i had to take breaks between the dishes to make sure i wasn't stressing the finger unduly. a sense of liberation in the kitchen...
byw, onions were the most difficult to chop. potatoes are much easier, and the cauliflower was entertaining. i'll just say that the florets are... irregular, to say the least
