Farm share, week 13, and Boston Organics
Sep. 3rd, 2008 06:17 pm- three pounds of tomatoes (many colors/kinds, including striped German, a favorite)
- two eggplants (white or light purple striped with white; I chose the former for size, mostly)
- two tomatillos (not sure what to do with just two...)
- a head of lettuce (I got green leaf because I missed seeing the red leaf)
- a head of garlic
- four ears of corn
- a golden spaghetti squash (I'm blanking on the variety name)
- two pounds of onions (choice of white, yellow, and/or red; I got a mix of all three)
- one and a quarter pounds of carrots
- a bunch of edamame (whole plants; I have to strip the pods from the plants, steam those, then decide whether to get the beans out now or later)
- a pound of peppers (I got red ones, the long thin type)
I forgot to cancel this in time, so... Boston Organics, small box, all veg. (Next delivery will be in October, erev Yom Kippur, so there'll be plenty to work with for Sukkot. I can change that if I get bulk from the farm share, though.)
- two large leeks
- a medium head of red cabbage
- six smallish sweet potatoes
- six summer squash
- two large red onions
- six beets
- one bunch of chard
- a winter squash
And apparently a head of garlic, which isn't in the box. I'm getting tired of this (though at least I have farm garlic.
