Help! The skylight in the stairwell of my building was acting rather like a waterfall in this afternoon's deluge. We need to have someone come in to reseal it, and I have no idea what sort of person to find. Any recommendations of type of workman (workperson?) or particular people/businesses to contact would be enormously appreciated.

A roofer? A glazier? The roofer might be more tempted to just spill some hot tar down the seams, which can get all over the glass, dimming it. OTOH, if the glass itself is broken, you'll need a glazier.

From how it was leaking, I think the seals need redoing, but the glass (quite possibly plastic, actually, given the shape) seems intact.

yeah, I'd say a roofer, but get one who has worked with skylights before.

Is this the kind of thing they'd list as a speciality, d'you think? (Which is to say, do I take their word for it?)

drop me an email...firstnamelastname@gmail.com

I'll get you pointed in the right direction. We may even have a couple of qualified people to suggest looking into.
