Small box, two-thirds veg.
  • two cucumbers
  • two zucchini
  • four yellow onions
  • six medium-small sweet potatoes (I'm glad I didn't get bulk ones from the farm after all)
  • six largish red-skinned potatoes
    two oranges
  • two lemons
  • a grapefruit
  • a pineapple

This morning I saw guys with much photographic equipment on Longfellow Bridge. I asked what they were taking pictures of, and they were looking for 'pretty' photos for 'the' hospital (MGH, I assume, given the location). Perhaps they're putting out new promotional materials? Do hospitals need promotional materials?

Yes about the promotional materials for hospitals- my boss actually "acted" in a promotional video that they were making to show donors. A lot of the money for research and fancy equipment comes from targeted donors.

I wonder how much money is spent chasing the money... I know that at a much smaller scale, I tend to prefer to give to non-profits that don't spend for flashy materials, figuring that my money will go more to the people that need it. I'm sure it's a totally different sort of pond at that level though.

I'm looking forward to it! I'll likely default to chunks of fruit, though perhaps a pineapple salsa will happen.

You could bake it with some rum and coconut.

True. Though that would require acquiring coconut, which makes it less likely. I could roast it with rum and maple syrup, plus perhaps onions.

Fresh chunks of pineapple are wonderfully good. Pineapple chunks are also oddly refreshing baked on pizza.

Hmmm, or you could make tropical drinks.

I've never tried pineapple on pizza. Given my current meal plans, it's not likely to happen to this one, but I'll keep it in mind.

Tropical drinks require little paper umbrellas :-)

i'm not sure any amount of promo materials could help MGH where they need it.

My experiences there haven't been stellar, by any stretch of the imagination. Given what Fetteredwolf mentioned (above), any likely monies would go to places patients don't much see.

There's informational materials for patients, too.

I always assume that those are more bare bones than having pretty colored photos on them, for some reason.
