Farm share week 16, and Boston Organics
Oct. 3rd, 2007 05:35 pmThree more weeks, then the winter share starts.
No tomatoes, no beets, no onions. But otherwise, yum.
Small box, one third fruit.
- a head of lettuce (I got a really dark narrow-leafed one)
- a bunch of chard or kale (I got lacinato)
- a pound of peppers (many colors, mostly not green; some bell, some long types; I got all long red ones)
- an eggplant (ranging from Japanese to 'regular' in shape, dark to violet to pale purple in color; I got a small 'regularish' one, partly because my dream last night included that kind)
- a pound of carrots
- two leeks
- a bunch of parsley (flat or curly; not sure why I chose curly)
- a pound and a half of sweet potatoes (yay! I got very narrow ones, maximizing surface area to weight)
- a butternut squash (big ones)
- a third of a pound of spinach and/or arugula (all latter for me; smells amazing)
- two purple kohlrabi (the leaves are edible; still have no clue what I'll do with them, though, space vegetables that they are, so suggestions are welcome)
- a daikon (regular carrot size)
No tomatoes, no beets, no onions. But otherwise, yum.
Small box, one third fruit.
- a bunch (two stalks) of broccoli
- two zucchini
- a bunch of mustard greens (MA grown)
- four onions
- four beets
- an acorn squash
- sweet potatoes (a pound? a pound and a half?)
- white potatoes (a pound and a half? two pounds?)(MA grown)
- four oranges
- a mango

Date: 2007-10-06 11:31 pm (UTC)1. I don't, always. I've thrown away bad experiments, and greens can go fast :-(.
2. Lots of dinner parties.
2a. Overeating...
Some of it I cook and use later, but mostly, I just try to eat far too many veggies.
