Monday is Patriot's Day, which means not only that there will be the 111th Boston Marathon, but this weekend is packed with many events commemorating the battles of Lexington and Concord, also Paul Revere's ride, including reenactments.
ETA2: Thursday, April 19, there's going to be a Define-a-thon at the Brattle. I'm contemplating competing... /edit
Cambridge will have a science festival Saturday, April 21, through Sunday, April 29, with all sorts of activities and exhibits and performances, most of them free.
Also of interest to Cantabridgians, the city now has a site for their women's heritage project.
ETA: On a sadder note, the Malden Mills store in Lawrence is closing, so they can "focus on their Internet businesses." Everything in the store is at least 40% off, if you can get there during business hours, which are 8-3, Monday to Saturday (very non-trivial for the Sabbath observers who work usual business hours!). The last day they'll be open in April 18. /edit
The weekend of May 5 and 6 is Somerville Open Studios, which is more art than anyone can see in that time. New this year: free shuttle buses with live entertainment.
Happy 50th to the E.U. There are lots of events marking this, around the world.
Sunday, May 20, is a festival in metro Boston celebrating Israel (at Gillette Stadium, down in Foxborough).
And yay for another turkey morning.
