False advertising! I see no "blah" in that list! Maybe "ew," in the basil, but no "blah" whatsoever.

It was more of the "there I go again posting lists of vegetables," not the blahness of the veggies themselves.

I suppose it doesn't help that I'm not particularly inspired to do anything with them yet (helped by not having completely turned my kitchen back from its Passover-ness).

Plum asparagus chutney! But I agree, that may be a daunting task when the kitchen isn't quite back to normal.

Plum asparagus chutney
I think that may actually be worse than some of those horrible 50s avocado desserts!

I usually cook based on what interests me in the moment; I hope some inspiration will meander through once I put the last of the Passover stuff away.

I think whipped avocado dessert is definitely from the 70s. Are there other avocado desserts you're thinking of?

No, I was probably conflating whipped avocado dessert with weird Jell-o mold dessert-like objects, and put them in the wrong decade.

Worse than whipped avocado delight?! Hooray! I was trying for "disgusting," but most of the combinations I came up with off your veggie list sounded like they might actually work well.

Plum's a tricky fruit for me, much more so than citrus or apple or cranberry or... well, almost anything except a couple of exotic things. I don't know why, but other than the obvious sweet things, it doesn't translate into more interesting situations as well as all the rest.

Perhaps a plum tart? Plums and cheese?

Plum tart is nice, but still all in the regular fruit-sweet-dessert mode. My issue is getting them out into the rest of the menu. And for some reason plums and cheese don't feel like they go together.

Hmmm, I was thinking a non-sweet tart. And of farmer cheese, if that makes a difference.

Maybe a barley and plum salad?
