Shabbat dinner
Jan. 26th, 2007 04:29 pm- grape-based liquid
- partly white wheat challah with flaxseed meal and multigrain flakes
- hummus, four kinds of olives
- veg soup with onions, a couple of heads of garlic, three sweet potatoes, a brick of frozen spinach, black pepper, red lentils, and barley (which is to say, things I had around the house, since the weather cried out for soup)
- salmon baked with orange juice and ginger spread (ideally it would've had mango chunks and bits of zest, but I didn't find mango, and I ran out of time for the zest)
- baked winter squash (a mix of acorn and buttercup)
- roasted cauliflower
- green salad with caramelized onions, oranges, olives, feta, black pepper, and a balsamic vinaigrette (also perhaps some nuts)
- gingery chocolate cake (ginger spread and powdered ginger)
- dried apricots, nuts, oranges, tea
And Vericon this weekend! I've signed in, and prepaid for Ysabel. Yay!

Date: 2007-01-28 12:21 pm (UTC)I make a soup with many of those ingredients -- onions, garlic, red lentils, and spinach. Other ingredients include nutmeg and lemon juice!
Did you add the ginger spread to the cake batter? Did you use it for filling? In the frosting?
