Boston Organics delivery, and more food
Jan. 18th, 2007 10:00 amA small box, part fruit.
Also a dozen eggs. The little list included tangerines, but I got none of those. Nor did I get a newsletter, again. I think it's time to contact them.
I got home late, and found that the romaine had started to freeze. Oops. The mushrooms were pretty cold, too. Time for an improv meal, a not-a-stir-fry. I sauteed onions, added the mushrooms (chopped up), and the eggplant (diced). I marinated some seitan with Szechuan spicy sauce (also some corn starch). I sliced up some baby carrots and put them in to get friendly as well. I added soy sauce when it seemed like the veggies were sticking. Once the eggplant was cooked, I added the seitan. At the very end, right before I turned the heat off, I added most of the head of romaine, roughly chopped, which cooked a little in the residual heat, but still left the stalks crunchy. I know, weird, but it used the lettuce I otherwise would've tossed (and I discovered some untouched bits in the middle, so there's some left for salad another night).
Verdict: decent, but not spicy enough.
