  • grape juice, homemade flatbreads (plain)

  • red chard sauteed with garlic
  • baked butternut squash (this was going to be something more exciting, but I didn't find the puff pastry in time)
  • green salad, the fancy one I made Tuesday
  • roasted orange and red carrots with ginger
  • black and red bean salad with corn, tomatoes, plus cayenne, cumin, hot pepper sauce, and hot pepper oil
  • Greek-syle maple-pecan rice pudding, with pizzelle as garnish

I sauteed a chopped onion and head of garlic for a bit, then added some curry powder (not a ton). I peeled and chopped up all the parsnips in the house (there were a lot, mostly largish, well over a dozen, but I didn't count), adding water enough to cover them. I cut up a peeled carrot at the end, too. That simmered for a long while, then I used the potato masher on in to make the pieces even smaller. I should've pureed at least some of it, but I wasn't in the mood. And people liked it, so I'm fine with it as is :-).
