The truth about KitKats

Thanks to Scholargipsy, I now know that pumpkin Kitkats are hazardous unimportable food items, which is why one cannot send them from Japan to the U.S.

Makes me wonder what's in the local KitKats...

And what are "milkshake" flavor KitKats supposed to taste like?

And I haven't had a problem shipping candy overseas, either. It's just weird.

According to　my boss, the Japanese post office is remarkably inconsistent about these sorts of things -- if I sent the package again, it might well not raise any eyebrows. Possibly the problem was that I declared the contents truthfully on the outside, or maybe the package was simply singled out for close investigation, or made into an example of the stringency of export controls, or something else I can't even guess at.

So there's plenty of scope for speculation, anyway, the little stories of the might-have-beens.

(I bet they didn't refund you however much the postage was, either.)
