I'm hosting two of the four meals. Tonight we are at least 6.
  • wine, round challah with honey
  • apples and honey (I got acacia honey, just because it was there)
  • hummus
  • vegetable soup (onion, sweet potato, spinach, kale, corn, black beans, and hot sauce)*
  • turkey
  • stuffing (wild rice, caramelized leeks, and dried apricots)
  • cranberry-orange relish
  • ratatouille
  • eta cucumber salad
  • broccoli*
  • peach pie, peach-blueberry pie
  • certain simanim foods, morphed some: pomegranate jam, and Swedish fish

For second day lunch we are also at least 6.
  • wine, grape juice, round challah with honey
  • apples and honey
  • hummus
  • vegetable soup (as above, but possibly with bits of turkey added)
  • steamed edamame**
  • turkey meatloaf*
  • mashed potatoes with caramelized onions*
  • cranberry-orange relish
  • ratatouille
  • eta cucumber salad
  • broccoli, if there's some left
  • apple pie
  • certain simanim foods, morphed some: pomegranate jam, and Swedish fish

The meals feel a bit too red, not enough green, but I don't feel inspired to make anything more than I've already planned. And neither meal has crunch, other than the apples (hopefully!), which also isn't ideal. However, I think it will be fine.

* To be made this afternoon.
** To be made on yom tov, unless I decide not to bother.

That looks fantastic.

Since I leave for the US on Sunday, I'm having leftover cold pizza (hooray!), left over potpie (meh), and fruit (hooray!).

It's sundown here soon, so I need to finish the blasted sermon and be done.

Shana Tova!

Thanks!

Mmmm... pizza! Leftover potpie could be good.

Shana tova, and I hope your travel is speedy and uneventful. (And you get the sermon done, of course.)

A quick way to add green (and a little crisp too) would be to garnish the soup with fresh parsley ...

I have no parsley, alas, and I'm unlikely to buy some now.... Though I'm less concerned about the soup, given the other greens that will be in it.

L'shanah tovah to you too!
