Monday's bike ride

Monday I biked to gaming for the first time ever. I chose a route to be relatively flat, with decent road surface, and to avoid the underpass-then-merge on Rte. 28N, though it meant going through the Sullivan Square roundabout. It went smoothly, even getting over to the third rightmost lane to go straight on Rte. 28 at the intersection with Rte. 16, though I could tell I'm not in the best shape, given the huffing and puffing at times. The excitement of the ride over was when the light changed at that intersection and I started through, then had to swerve to avoid a car tire rolling out from the stopped cars on my right. Just the tire, no clue how it got there, though there were a couple of guys who seemed to be chasing it. I wish I knew the whole story.

The ride back was simpler, since there's no underpass on 28S; I was able to take just about the same route I'd take when driving home. It was much cooler, there was less traffic, and my lights were sufficient for the situation. It felt good to be out, enjoying the night.
