She and her fiance are both on the UK Talkers which I suppose is the biggest link.
Also, we're both living out our first year in the UK and finding, occasionally, enough to want to strangle people. Unfortunately. :-/

Sorry to hear that the UK can be that frustrating. I grew up an Anglophile (lots of BBC and British kid books :-), so I'm always astonished when it turns out not to be idyllic, even though it should be obvious that nowhere's perfect, and some will grate more than others....
