Shabbat menu
Jul. 7th, 2006 04:58 pm- challah (with flaxseed meal, multigrain flakes, and bulghur, plus a maple-olive oil glaze)
- vegetable-barley soup with spicy sausage (the vegetables being onion, garlic, kale, onion, and Hakurei turnip)
- green salad with red leaf and green leaf lettuce, mesclun, arugula, scallions, hearts of palm, slivered almonds, and diced chicken breast cooked with onion and sour cherries (picked minutes ago, courtesy of my neighbors)
- green potato salad (with scallions, garlic scapes, and fresh peas; cider vinaigrette dressing)
- tomato-cucumber salad with basil
- sorbet and fruit (black raspberries and medjool dates)
If I find the energy, I can add roasted beets and carrots or spiced nuts to the menu. I suspect it won't happen.
