Earthquake potential in Boston
May. 31st, 2006 01:45 pmAccording to a Globe article, Boston's not prepared, with an estimated 75% of Boston's 100,000 buildings built before 1973, when the seismic building codes were adopted.
What I thought particularly interesting was the map of liquefaction risk in metro Boston; it's quite amazing to see just how much landfill there's been, not just Boston, but along the rivers, too (including Cambridge).
