I have been craving spring this year. We have not had a really good one in a while and this winter has been such a tease with its warm days. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed this winter much, but just makes me want a real spring even more.
I like winter, but it feels like we've had only a couple of weeks of true winter, with the rest of the time being not-quite-winter and not-spring.
(Though my definition of spring is apparently different than most people's, since reliable weather in the 40s and 50s is spring to me, while some people don't think it spring until we get to 60s. I think that's why there's the annual complaint about lack of spring. I tend to miss spring in the whirl of Passover prep, but it's usually there to miss, as it were.)
Spring is the ability to wear a cute skirt and tank top, but you still bring that fleece with you just incase. Flip flops rather than boots even though you know your toes will be a little chilly. 60’s is more my spring temperature, but I have been known to push it when it is only in the 50's...40’s is still transition time for me.
OK, just figured it out: I tend to run warm (which is part of why I like winter so much and dislike lots of summer), so spring (=sandals and T-shirts, etc) is earlier for me. People who run colder need it warmer to do that.
Wow. Is that really appropriate for a public post?
Oh wait... you mean your bike... bike riding. Of course. Yes. I knew that was what you meant. It's just that some folks have strong feelings about those kinds of things... scary feelings... feelings that haunt the darkest places of their minds. You wouldn't want to be responsible for invoking those kinds of feelings now, would ya? Would ya!?
