Shabbat menu
Mar. 3rd, 2006 05:19 pmwine
flaxseed meal challah
potato-corn chowder
salmon with wasabi and panko
chard with preserved lemon and pine nuts
spicy eggplant
cabbage casserole: steamed cabbage leaves layered with crushed tomatoes and a mixture of rice, feta, and sauteed spinach and crimini mushrooms
chickpea-tomato salad with scallions and olive spread
(bought) orange-cranberry loaf
undipped truffles (ie, flavored ganache)
dried fruit, nuts, tea
Last night's dinner ended up being fairly monochromatic: a mashed potato, white fish sauteed over onions, and roasted cauliflower and golden beet. It felt a bit strange to have everything so pale, but it tasted good.
And totally off topic, for all those sewing Trekkies: I bought the patterns for classic Trek costumes. Let me know if you want to use the pattern.
