They've just started offering deliveries in Melrose and Malden (Thursdays), and much of Dorcester (zip codes 02122, 02124, and 02125, all on Tuesdays), in case this is of use to someone.

This week's delivery: one third fruit, two thirds veggies.

two potatoes, one medium, one large enough for a family of five
two sweet potatoes
two bosc pears
a bag of green beans (half a pound?)
a bag of shiitake mushrooms (a third of a pound?) (YAY!)
two heads of garlic
two beets (one medium, one larger)
four bananas
two red onions
five navel oranges
two minneolas
two grapefruit (grapefruits?)

And the list on the box included arugula, but there wasn't any inside. I've emailed them, but I assume I'll have to find greens elsewhere this week.

Current thoughts for use: I suppose I really must make marmalade now. Perhaps a stir fry of green beans and shiitakes with flavored ground turkey. Roasted garlic and balsamic-roasted red onions atop polenta circles (possibly also with beets?). Gnocchi.

We signed up....Today! I have been talking with

coorr about this a lot but needed to wait until the summer was over do to schedule and lack of cooking time. Starting slow with a small box every 2 weeks 1/3 fruit 2/3 veggies. I have a bad habit of science experiments so want to start slow and will move up in the world of produce from there.

I'm planning to cut back/go on hiatus while getting the farm share this summer, but for non-farm times, it's been very useful, especially since I no longer have a car commute. (It's amazing how much I can put off going to a big box grocery store if I get produce regularly... everything else stores better.)
