The vegetarian hunting party came to a new part of the forest, famed for its artichoke harts. If they could kill one of these famed beasts, what feasting there would be in their village! Of course, it was forbidden to hunt the royal harts, but with the calamaties their village had suffered, no one would tell the king's agent, and the steam of boiling water could always be for soup.
