Not at all sekrit message to Bbbsg and Teddywolf: your tomatoes are here. Come by sometime tonight to get them.

The farm share this week included:
  • a head of garlic
  • two onions (well, "one or two", but for me, that's definitely two. I took yellow, not red.)
  • a head of lettuce (green leaf)
  • 1.8 pounds of carrots
  • 2.25 pounds of tomatoes (I got a Striped German and another small red one.)
  • a bunch of red radishes with greens
  • a bunch of arugula
  • two little hot peppers (not long and thin, more egg/oval shaped, but not sure what kind)
  • a winter squash (I took a carnival.)

And I got two 20-lb boxes of mixed tomato seconds, for a total of $20. Almost half are going away as is, and some will be going away once they're sauce-ized (since I just don't assume the woman who just gave birth has time/energy for making tomato sauce just now...). They're definitely seconds, some a bit past their prime, or already cracked, but still very cookable.

This was also a Boston Organics week.
  • a half-pint of wild Maine blueberries
  • two acorn squashes
  • a bunch of arugula (well, it looks like arugula, and they say it is, but it doesn't smell like much...)
  • a bag (half a pound?) of green beans
  • seven bananas
  • four kiwis
  • three oranges
  • four medium-small yellow tomatoes (oddly, the newsletter says beefsteak tomatoes, which these definitely aren't)
  • two Angelina plums
  • a red pepper (huzzah! not green!)
