Tomato update

The short form: there will be lots of tomatoes at my house Wednesday for pickup; I'm getting 40 pounds (so if you wanted tomatoes and didn't quite get around to mentioning, there's still the opportunity :-).

However.

I should've called sooner, because Ryan (the farmer) isn't sure whether he can get me the plum tomatoes after all (many people have already ordered), in which case he'll substitute the seconds. I won't know until the pickup what I'm getting (which means I can't give an estimate for prices, either).

I hope this works for everyone. [Everyone currently means Treacle_Well (5 lb), Bbbsg (5 lb), Teddywolf (5 lb), Queue (1 lb), Z (5 lb or so), and me (whatever's left).] Let me know if not; I can cut back to only 20 lb if people want out.

What kind/kinds of tomatoes are the seconds?

I'm not sure, other than not plum tomatoes, and not small (cherry or grape) tomatoes.

As we discussed Saturday, I'm happy with whatever you get. If you end up with the "whatever's left" being more than you really want, I'll be happy to buy a bit more.

Also, about what time do you think will be good to do pickup from your place?

Farm share pickup ends at 6, and I'm usually not the last one there. OTOH, if I use their scale to get 5-lb batches weighed, I might be there later than usual. So, after 6:30, definitely, and most probably after 6 will work, too.

Okay. I usually leave work around 6:15 or 6:30, so should I assume it would be okay for me to just head over there after work? Should I call first, or just show?

(Barring severe T-delays I'm guessing I'd be there between 6:45 and 7:15)
