Is it better or worse for the morning's train stoppage to be on the bridge? On the one hand, stuff to look at. On the other hand, having to see all the people outside actually getting towards their destinations.

Bunker Hill Day tomorrow. Juneteenth Sunday.

Debate: is it worth switching to S2 to be able to use tags? And just how much time would it take for me to retroactively tag thousands of entries?

Definitely enjoying the novelty of needing a jacket in June.

I wonder what the T will do with all the tokens once they're phased out. Sell them for scrap? Sell them as souvenirs?

A stopped train on the bridge can be very useful if you want to call someone to let them know your train is stopped.

Also, I'm in S1 but tags seem to work for me.

good: can call ahead and tell your boss or someone you're going to be late
bad: so can everyone else. loudly.

Point.

I haven't tried tagging yet; I just was reading about how they were designed to work in S2. Though now I see that there is the button for tags at the top.
That means I have no excuse to not spend lots and lots of time doing post facto tags....

I don't have a cell phone (yeah, I'm a dinosaur), and luckily where I work things are fairly flexible about timing.

Only a couple of people called. One was so quiet I could barely hear her speaking, much less what she said, though she was only a few feet away. The other one... well, apparently he slipped this morning, and wrenched his knee, and...

Heh. I think you and another of my LJ friends were on the same train this morning. She did call because her boss is an ass and gets on her case for being late. I haven't gotten stuck in train foo for two and a half days now and it' sad that I know that.

The tags show up, but if you click on the links (in hopes of, say, seeing all entries so tagged), you get a "no taggy goodness for you, S1 loser!" error. Ok, that's not the exact text. :-)

I'm hoping I can find an S2 style that is legible enough to consider using. It might have to be Generator, but oh well. One thing I do under S1 that's apparently not allowed under S2 is to use different base styles for my journal page and my friends page.

I like the bridge. It would break me out of whatever thought pattern I was in before the bridge. When I worked at the bank in Quincy, I would study on the train all of the time. That time on the bridge, for however long it lasted, was my study break.

Plus, my bridge thoughts always reminded me of my old professor Sven Birkerts, one of America's finest essayist, who was the first person whoever expressed to me how the bridge always changes your thought patterns.

I like the bridge, too. I don't necessarily like being in a non-moving train for an unspecified time, whethether on the bridge or not, though.

I'd assumed it would be better to be stuck on the bridge, since it's nice to see what's out there, but when we were stuck this morning, it was rather frustrating to see the cars, bikes, and pedestrians actually getting to where they were going while we sat and waited for an announcement...

Melt them down to help with the Big Dig. ;)

I don't think ANYTHING will help the Big Dig.
