From Coraline, via lots of people.
List your top 6 "happy foods": the foods that when you eat them, make you want to do a little dance in your seat. It can be restaurant, junk food, home-made, whatever.

As everyone else has noted, this changes with the seasons, my mood, etc.
  1. Dark chocolate. Really dark chocolate.
  2. Cranberry chutney. Cranberry almost anything, actually (except the stuff in the jars), but especially chutney, the tart, sweet, and spicy balancing beautifully.
  3. Fried whitefish sandwich. I've only had this twice, from a kosher fish store north of Chicago, but it was perfect, an instant food-memory from a childhood I didn't have. I need to go to Chicago...
  4. My mom's tzimmes, with brisket, potatoes (sweet and white), carrots, and the essential Oregon tart prunes. Mom made it only for Passover, but somehow it says home.
  5. Roasted vegetables, a couple of minutes after coming out of the oven. Potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, cauliflower, it's all amazing roasted. It can be very hard to share...
  6. Knishes. Almost any kind of knishes, too.

It was hard to figure out #6, when the others were obvious. Hm.

ETA: No wonder #6 was hard; in this wintry weather, I'd forgotten what truly should be #6: perfectly ripe sungold tomatoes, picked earlier that same day.
