  • Belle Isle marsh, by the Suffolk Downs T stop. Acres of hiking that are T accessible, what could be better?
  • Walk around Concord, not just Walden Pond. Optional: reread The Diamond in the Window and/or (blanking on title, the book about the Patriot's Day reenactment).
  • Visit Drumlin Farm in Lincoln. (Bike out, once I'm in better shape?)
  • Walk the Minuteman National Park.
  • Visit the Peabody Essex Museum. Also the stamp museum in Weston, by the wonderful organic farm.
  • More Harbor Islands.

There are so many things I haven't done/seen/experienced around here. Other ideas?

How about some ocean? The ferry to Provincetown is fun for an overnight (and they'll let you take your bicycle I think.) and Rockport is an easy day trip. Hampton Beach for the sand and surf experience. Head south to Rhode Island and explore Newport a bit maybe?

Oceans are good, though I prefer them early or late in the day, rather than during the full heat of the sun (sunburn is not my friend). I was in P-town for the first time last year, and I think you're right, that bikes are allowed.

I haven't yet been to Rockport or Hampton Beach. *memo to self to Google them*

I should go to Newport. Sadly, my current association is a trip with my graduating Hebrew school class, during which many of us acted like the worst of the junior high schoolers we were. Time to get some new memories.

Thanks.

I like Rockport - there's a really nice park up there, Halibut Point State Park (http://www.state.ma.us/dem/parks/halb.htm), with some trails around an old quarry, and really awesome cliffs (you can climb down pretty easily to water level). They have a visitor center and so forth, but I like just sitting on the big rocks overlooking the ocean. And it's a pretty quick drive, too.
