Random bits
Feb. 2nd, 2004 07:27 amDriving home Friday, I passed a pro-vegetable truck, which encouraged people to "toot if you like beans". Musical fruit, indeed.
I went to Walgreens, and by the register, I found I could buy giftcards. Not just for Walgreens, which made sense, but for Toys'R'Us, Pier 1, some local restaurants, etc. Is it only me who thinks this rather odd? Or is it just that it seems beyond lazy to be able to buy all sorts of different gift cards in one location? I mean, it's not like you're buying a gift that requires much thought or any wrapping.
And while on the consumer side, there seems to be a new candy form out there. I had to stop to figure out that they're not chocolate-coated Pringles, but a variety of different candy bars mutated into Pringles shape and stacked in a short cylindrical container. Just... Why?

Date: 2004-02-02 10:24 am (UTC)The ones that caught my eye happened to be Mounds, but there were also some Peppermint Patty ones off to the side. Why the fsck would anyone want to make candy bar volume into a curved surface? I mean, once you accept the curved surface part, I suppose you have to end up with the Pringle's shape (I know a math prof who uses Pringle's to teach about saddle-shaped curves). But it still made me wonder if they were selling extremely odd flavors of chocolate-dipped potato chips...

Thanks for the brain worm. Not.
